Introduction to Watercolor Painting

This beginning, six-week class on watercolor painting will address both traditional and nontraditional materials and various techniques. Students will learn the basics of the watercolor medium, beginning with the techniques of wet on wet, dry brush, resist, layering, and more.

Color theory will also be introduced. You will implement these different techniques on mini projects throughout the course culminating in a final piece using the technique of your choosing! No experience is necessary for this course. Just come and learn! Meets once a week for six weeks, or 12 classroom hours.

When:  Meets once a week for six weeks, or 12 total classroom hours. Choose the class that suits your schedule:

   

 — Tuesdays from 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm, Oct 23 to Dec 4 (no class 11/20) (IWC#6)

Materials: Students will be provided with basic materials in class but are also encouraged to bring their own supplies. A suggested material list will be discussed for those interested in purchasing their own materials.
