Creative Writing Course: Exploring Your Writer’s Identity

WHO: Current and emerging writers who want to get the writing juices flowing

WHAT: Creative Writing Course: Half and Half
Over this 8 week course, we will spend the first half learning and discussing the craft of creative writing, including techniques and practices that tie into plot lines, character developments, and the story elements at large, as well as techniques to deal with writer's block. We will then spend the second half of the class as a workshop, engaged in creating original work. There will be dedicated time for sharing our stories, giving feedback, learning revision techniques, as well as specific lessons geared towards the needs of the class. This will be a great, encouraging way to finally begin writing that story you have always wanted to write or to just come and try something new. No writing experience necessary, just come willing to learn and try.

Christina Alexandru is a writer and visual artist living with her husband in Skokie, IL. She is currently earning her MFA in Creative Writing from Roosevelt University. In her free time, Christina loves to walk among lots and lots of trees. Check out her blog here.
