Concert: Jutta & The Hi-Dukes Music of Love

You and your sweetie will enjoy the heart-warming selection of international love songs (and much more) played by Evanston's own world music band, Jutta & the Hi-Dukes (tm), on Friday, February 15, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This is the second performance here by these eclectic troubadours who play everything from medieval Danish songs to Danubian grooves to Dixieland dance tunes, painting powerful pictures in their own colorful way on mandolin, Bulgarian flute, guitar, and percussion accompanied by their three singing voices. Wolves and rabbits, ravens and nightingales all abound in this magical tour of world music.

The family trio tours across America and Europe. Their ever-changing spectrum of sound transports souls of all ages across cultural borders. Terry Loncaric, an Illinois entertainment writer and poet, wrote, “Their artistry and sense of musical history is infused in their delicious tracks. I like [their] intelligent approach to music as well as the old world flavor of what [they] do.”

If you have not yet experienced this great group, make sure to catch them here and find out why the Round Table's Natalie Wainwright wrote “[Their] music is exciting and listeners will find it hard to keep from leaping up to dance” and why Earwig Music Company's Michael Frank decided to sign them as his Blues label's first world music act saying, “I imagine you will find Jutta & the Hi-Dukes as exciting as I do!
