Jordin Hartwig Reception

"In May 2017 I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with my Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Art Education. I have recently been hired as the art teacher at LEARN 6 Charter School in North Chicago and I will begin teaching K-8 art this upcoming school year. As a whole, my art practice is concerned with the challenges faced and overcome by Chicago’s urban wildlife. This series in particular focuses on Chicago’s and Lincoln Park Zoo’s avian residents. I volunteer weekly at Lincoln Park Zoo so it just made sense that my work would eventually involve the animals cared for by the zoo. This series of photographs is intended to provide a glimpse of these beautiful, fast-paced, often over-looked animals that share our city with us."
